REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Disconnect accelerator cable at throttle body. Disconnect speed control actuator cable, if equipped.
3. Remove bolts retaining accelerator cable bracket and position accelerator cable bracket and cables aside.
4. Disconnect vacuum lines from upper intake manifold.
5. Disconnect necessary electrical connectors and position main engine wiring harness out of the way.
6. Disconnect crankcase ventilation tube from upper intake manifold and positive crankcase ventilation valve (PCV valve).
7. If required, remove throttle body retaining nuts and remove throttle body.
8. If required remove the idle air control valve (IAC valve) from the upper intake manifold.
9. Remove the intake manifold retaining bolts and upper intake manifold.
10. Inspect integral intake manifold upper gasket on the upper intake manifold.
INSTALLATION
1. Install bolts in original locations. Tighten in numerical sequence, shown in the illustration, to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch lbs.).
NOTE: Prior to re-installation of the upper intake manifold assembly, check the upper intake gasket to make sure that:
a. Seals are completely installed in manifold groove.
b. Seals show no cuts or tears.
2. If removed, install idle air control valve on upper intake manifold.
3. If removed, install throttle body.
4. Connect rear crankcase ventilation tubes at positive crankcase ventilation valve and upper intake manifold.
5. Position engine control sensor wiring and connect necessary electrical connectors.
6. Connect vacuum lines to upper intake manifold.
7. Position accelerator cable bracket. Install and tighten retaining bolts to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch lbs.).
8. Connect speed control actuator cable to throttle body, if equipped.
9. Connect accelerator cable to throttle body.
10. Install engine air cleaner (ACL) and air cleaner outlet tube.
