Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Compressor

REMOVAL
1. Discharge the A/C system.

2. Remove the A/C compressor to condenser discharge line bolt. Plug the A/C compressor outlet fitting to prevent moisture from entering the system.
3. Disconnect the A/C compressor to condenser discharge line from the A/C compressor.

4. Remove the evaporator to compressor suction line fitting bolt from the A/C compressor. Plug the A/C compressor inlet fitting to prevent moisture from entering the system.
5. Loosen the tensioner pulley and belt from the A/C compressor.
6. Loosen the RH top A/C compressor bolt and remove the three remaining A/C compressor bolts.

NOTE: Do not remove the RH front A/C compressor bolt from the A/C compressor so that the RH front bolt will clear the radiator upon A/C compressor removal.

7. Lift the A/C compressor from the vehicle.

Tighten the A/C compressor to condenser discharge line bolt to 10-15 N.m (8-11 lb-ft).
