SENSOR - MALFUNCTION OF THE DPFE SENSOR - POLICE VEHICLES ONLY

ISSUE
The Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFE) sensor may malfunction on some vehicles. This may be caused by idle vibrations.

ACTION
If replacement of the DPFE sensor is required, replace existing DPFE sensor with a more robust design. The new part meets requirements of the police package and should reduce the possibility of malfunction. Refer to Section 03-08 of the 1997 Crown Victoria Workshop Manual for removal and installation procedures.
