Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Test Notes

Normal Operation
The supplemental restraint system has several model-dependent combinations of air bag modules and belt and buckle assembly pretensioners. There are three part numbers for the air bag Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS) module component, depending on the configuration of the vehicle air bag system. The ECS performs a diagnosis of the entire air bag system. If the passenger air bag module is not part of the equipment package, then a connector behind the passenger air bag trim panel will be connected to ground. This provides the ECS with the option coding through Pin C1-2O. If the vehicle has been incorrectly equipped, then the ECS will store DTC C1415 in memory and flash LFC 29 (or higher priority code if one exists) on the air bag indicator.

Possible Causes
- Damaged wiring.
- Incorrect ECS part number installed.
- Incorrect equipment installed.
