Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVALCAUTION: Always disconnect the battery ground cable prior to working on the electronic engine controls.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. On vehicles equipped with dual batteries, use proper cable disconnect procedures.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Remove sensor.
1 Disconnect wiring.
2 Disconnect vacuum hose from Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.
3 Remove fasteners retaining MAP sensor and bracket assembly below cowl drip rail.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
