Glow Plug Relay: Service and Repair
REMOVALWARNING: Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool to pry the terminal cover from the glow plug relay. Battery voltage is present at the terminals.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
2. Remove the glow plug relay terminal cover.
3. Remove the nuts and wiring from the glow plug relay.
4. Remove the two nuts and the glow plug relay.
INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse order. On vehicles equipped with dual batteries, use proper cable reconnect procedures.
