REMOVAL






1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km( 10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.






2. Loosen the air cleaner outlet tube clamp at the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and remove the tube.






3. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector.

CAUTION: The MAF sensor electronics module and body are calibrated as a unit and must he replaced as a unit. Do not tamper with the sensing elements located in the air flow bypass of the MAF body.






4. Remove the MAF.
1 Remove the four MAF sensor bolts.
2 Remove the MAF sensor.









5. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten to specifications.






6. Connect the battery ground cable.
