Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: The electrical power to the air suspension system must be shut off prior to hoisting, jacking or towing an air suspension vehicle, this can be accomplished by turning off the air suspension switch located in the rear jack storage area.

Failure to do so may result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs which may result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations.

2. Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S) electrical connector.

NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the HO2S with penetrating lubricant E8AZ-19A501-B or equivalent to assist in removal.

3. Remove the HO2S sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the HO2S and tighten to specs.

NOTE: Apply a light coat of Anti-Seize Compound on HO2S threads before installing.

2. Connect the HO2S electrical connector.
3. Lower the vehicle.

NOTE: If equipped with air suspension, reactivate the system by turning on the air suspension switch.
