Compressor

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

CAUTION: Do not open the high-pressure valve while the engine is running.

NOTE: Cap all open refrigerant lines and components to prevent entry of dirt and moisture.

2. Remove drive belt.
3. Disconnect A/C compressor electrical connector.
4. Recover refrigerant from system following the recommended service procedure. Observe all safety precautions. Refrigerant Recovery
5. Disconnect the refrigerant lines and the bolt from the A/C compressor.
6. Remove A/C compressor bolts (4) and the A/C compressor mounting bracket.






INSTALLATION
1. Install the A/C compressor, A/C compressor mounting bracket, and compressor bolts (4). Tighten to 23-31 Nm (17-23 lb-ft).
2. Connect A/C compressor electrical connector.
3. Install drive belt.
4. Connect battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

5. Lubricate O-rings with clean refrigerant oil. Connect the refrigerant lines and bolt to the A/C compressor mounting bracket.
