Wheel Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection
RESISTANCEUsing an ohmmeter, check resistance between both terminals of the anti-lock brake sensor.
^ Front 1015-1245 ohms
^ Rear 2187-2673 ohms
If resistance is not within range, replace the sensor.
SHORT TO GROUND
^ Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between each terminal of the anti-lock brake sensor and either vehicle ground or the sensor body.
^ If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, replace the sensor.
AIR GAP - Check the air gap between the sensor and the anti-lock sensor indicator.
^ Front 0.50-0.95 mm (0.020-0.037 inch)
^ Rear 0.60-1.60 mm (0.024-0.063 inch)
Gap is not adjustable, if not within range, check for damaged components such as damaged/worn wheel bearings.
