Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor
DESCRIPTION The
engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT) detects temperature of engine coolant and supplies information to the
powertrain control module. The ECT sensor is used to control torque converter clutch
(TCC) operation.
SYMPTOMS Torque converter clutch will always be off if ECT sensor reads cold or normal, resulting in reduced fuel economy.
