Engine oils that meet both Ford specification ESE-M2C153-E and API category SG must be used. The correct viscosity grade must be selected according to climatic conditions. In virtually all climates the oil viscosity of SAE 5W-30 is preferred. In moderate to primarily hot climates 38°C (100°F) the oil viscosity of 10W-30 may be used.
