Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect wiring at Voltage Regulator (VR).
3. Remove attaching nut and wiring terminal from generator output terminal.
4. Disengage drive belt from generator pulley.
5. Remove attaching bolts and Generator (GEN).

INSTALLATION






1. Position generator on mounting bracket and install attaching bolts. Tighten attaching bolts to 40-54 Nm (30-40 Lb-Ft) torque.
2. Install drive belt over generator pulley.
3. Install wiring terminal and attaching nut on generator output terminal.
4. Connect wiring at voltage regulator.
5. Connect battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
