Cylinder Head Assembly

Tightening Specifications
Oil Galley or Cooling Jacket Plugs:
- 1/4-inch pipe plug: 12-16 Nm (9-11 ft. lbs.)
- 1-inch pipe plug: 80-100 Nm (59-73 ft. lbs.)

Head Bolts

CAUTION: Cylinder head retaining bolts must be replaced with new bolts. They are torque-to-yield designed and cannot be reused or damage to engine may occur.





Step 1: Tighten bolts to 37-43 Nm (28-31 ft. lbs.).
Step 2: Rotate bolts 85-95°.
Step 3: Loosen bolts a minimum of one full turn (360°).
Step 4: Tighten bolts to 37-43 Nm (28-31 ft. lbs.).
Step 5: Rotate bolts 85-95°.
Step 6: Rotate bolts an additional 85-95°.
