Air Diverter Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL and INSTALLATION1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Disconnect main emission vacuum control connector from secondary air injection diverter valve.
3. Completely loosen the secondary air injection manifold tube nut from the secondary air injection diverter valve.
4. Disconnect secondary air injection pump outlet hose from the secondary air injection diverter valve.
5. Remove two retaining bolts and the secondary air injection diverter valve.
6. If required, remove the secondary air injection manifold tube from the exhaust manifolds.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten retaining bolts for diverter valve to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in). Tighten secondary air injection manifold tube nuts to 38-42 Nm (28-30 lb ft). Tighten engine air cleaner tube clamps to 2 Nm (18 lb in).
