Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor from fuel charging wiring.
2. Remove two TP sensor retaining screws.
3. Remove TP sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. Install Throttle Position (TP) sensor. Make sure that rotary tangs on sensor are in proper alignment and that the red seal is inside the connector housing.

CAUTION: Slide rotary tangs into position over throttle shaft blade, then rotate TP sensor clockwise to installed position. Failure to install the sensor in this manner may result in excessive idle speeds.

2. Secure TP sensor to throttle body assembly with two retaining screws. Tighten retaining screws to 2.8-3.8 Nm (25-34 lb in).

NOTE: This throttle position sensor is not adjustable.

3. Connect fuel charging wiring to TP sensor.
