Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor:

1. Partially drain engine cooling system.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from Engine Coolant Temperature sensor (ECT sensor).
4. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor from intake manifold.
5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten engine coolant temperature sensor to 16-24 Nm (12-17 lb-ft). Refill cooling system.
