Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments





1. Install Digital TR sensor on manual control lever and two shims, then loosely install bolts.
2. Position manual control lever in NEUTRAL.

NOTE: PARK is the last detent when the manual control lever is full forward. Return two detents toward output shaft for NEUTRAL.





3. Insert Digital Transmission Range (TR) Sensor Alignment Tool 307-351 (T97L-7001O-A) into slots. Align all three slots on digital transmission range sensor with three tabs on tool.
4. Tighten digital TR sensor bolts to 7 - 10 Nm (62 - 88 inch lbs.). and remove tool.
5. Connect electrical harness to digital transmission range sensor.
6. Install manual shift cable and tighten retaining nut to 19 - 26 Nm (14 - 19 ft. lbs.).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Connect battery ground cable.
9. Check for proper operation with parking brake control engaged. The engine should start only in PARK or NEUTRAL.
