Anti-Theft System, Passive






REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove the steering column opening cover assembly and reinforcement to access Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) module located to right of fuse junction panel.
3. Remove three fasteners retaining module and bracket and one fastener attaching metal brace near module.
4. Disconnect main wiring harness connector and remove PATS module and mounting bracket.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: The PATS module must be reconfigured after replacement. Review information found in the PATS Configuration Command Index. For additional reprogramming assistance, review the help screen on the New Generation STAR (NGS) Tester configuration card.

1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Tighten all three screws to 2.4-4.0 N.m (22-35 lb-in).
