Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Front

1. Grease or any other foreign material must be kept off lining surfaces and braking surfaces of front disc brake rotor and external surfaces of wheel hub during service operation. In handling front disc brake rotor and front disc brake caliper assemblies, avoid deformation, nicking or scratching of brake lining and front disc brake rotor.
2. If a caliper piston is removed for any reason, piston seal and dust boot must be replaced. Exercise care not to damage caliper piston by protecting it from contact with any metal or sharp edged objects.
3. During removal and installation of a wheel assembly, exercise care not to interfere with or damage front disc brake rotor shield or the wheel cylinder bleeder screw.
4. Do not attempt to clean or restore any oil or grease soaked brake linings. When contaminated brake linings are found, they must be replaced in complete axle sets and rotor braking surfaces wiped clean.
5. The LH and RH front disc brake calipers must be installed on the correct side of the vehicle to be sure the wheel cylinder bleeder screw is in the topmost position for proper purging of air from the front brake system during bleeding.
