Rear
- Keep grease or any other foreign material off brake lining surfaces, braking surfaces of rear disc brake rotor and external surfaces of rear hub during service operation. In handling rear disc brake rotor and rear disc brake caliper assemblies, avoid deformation, nicking or scratching of rear brake linings and rear disc brake rotors.- If a rear disc brake piston and adjuster is removed for any reason, piston seal and dust boot must be replaced. Be careful not to damage rear disc brake piston and adjuster; protect it from contact with any metal or sharp-edged objects.
- During removal and installation of a wheel assembly, be careful not to interfere with, or damage rear wheel disc brake shield, if equipped, or the wheel cylinder bleeder screw.
- Do not attempt to clean or restore any oil or grease-soaked rear brake linings. When contaminated linings are found, replace in complete axle sets and wipe rear disc brake rotor braking surfaces clean.
- Before installing brake rotor, thoroughly clean all rust and dirt from the hub surface that contacts rotor, the rotor surface that contacts the hub and the rotor surface that contacts the wheel.
- Install the LH and RH rear disc brake caliper on the correct side of the vehicle to be sure wheel cylinder bleeder screw is in the top most position for proper purging of air from the front brake system during bleeding.
- After any service work, pump the brake pedal until firm before moving the vehicle.
