Fluid - M/T: Testing and Inspection

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.





2. Remove the uppercase plug.
3. Fluid should be level with the bottom of the fill plug hole. If fluid level is low add enough MERCON Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX or equivalent to bring level within specification.
4. Apply a thin coat of Pipe Sealant with Teflon D8AZ-19544-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G350-A2 and ESR-M18P7-A to case plug. Reinstall and tighten to 11-24 Nm (98-212 inch lbs.).
