Battery

REMOVAL







1. Disconnect the battery cables.
^ Disconnect the battery ground cable.
^ Disconnect the battery to starter relay cable.







2. Remove the battery heat shield.







3. Remove the (A) battery hold down bolt and the (B) battery hold down clamp.







4. Remove the battery.

WARNING: WHEN LIFTING A BATTERY, EXCESSIVE PRESSURE ON THE END WALLS COULD CAUSE ACID TO SPEW THROUGH THE VENT CAPS, RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY. LIFT WITH A BATTERY CARRIER OR WITH YOUR HANDS ON OPPOSITE CORNERS.

INSTALLATION







1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 kilometers (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
