EGR Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR valve.
2. Remove the two EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube retaining nuts from the EGR valve.
3. Remove the two EGR valve retaining bolts, EGR valve and EGR valve gaskets.

INSTALLATION
1. Clean upper intake manifold and EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube sealing surfaces with a plastic-tipped scraper to remove any residual EGR valve gasket material.
2. Position EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube and new EGR valve gasket into EGR valve. Loosely install the two EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube retaining nuts to EGR valve.
3. Install new EGR valve gasket and two bolts retaining EGR valve to the upper intake manifold.
4. Tighten the retaining bolts and nuts to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
5. Connect vacuum hose to EGR valve.
