Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

The
fuel tank pressure sensor is located in the upper surface of the fuel tank in contact with the vapor space.

It monitors pressure and vacuum inside the fuel tank and communicates this information to the Powertrain Control Module
(PCM).

The
fuel tank pressure sensor monitors vacuum level inside the tank during the OBD II leak test of the evaporative emission system.
