Installation

1. Install the clutch release hub and bearing and the clutch release lever.
2. Position the transmission on the transmission jack.





3. Raise and position the transmission.





4. Install the seven bolts.





5. Install the bolts.





6. Install the rear insulator and the rear support and bolts.





7. Connect the clutch release cable.





8. Install the clutch cable retaining ring.
9. Install the clutch release arm cover.





10. Connect the backup lamp switch and position the wiring harness.





11. Connect the OSS connector.
12. Install the starter motor.
13. Position the dual converter Y-pipe.





14. Install the RH nuts.





15. Install the LH nuts.





16. Install the nuts.
17. Connect the heated oxygen sensor connectors.
18. Remove the special tool from the extension housing.





19. Position the driveshaft in the transmission and install the four bolts.
20. Fill the transmission with 2.6L (5.6 pints) of MERCON(R) Multi-Purpose Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX or equivalent meeting Ford MERCON(R) specification.
21. Lower the vehicle. Install the gearshift lever.
22. Connect the battery ground cable.
