Air Diverter Valve: Service and Repair

California Emissions:

REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Disconnect main emission vacuum control connector from secondary air injection diverter valve.
3. Completely loosen the Secondary air injection manifold tube nut from the secondary air injection diverter valve.
4. Disconnect secondary air injection pump outlet hose from the secondary air injection diverter valve.
5. Remove two retaining bolts and the secondary air injection diverter valve.
6. If required, remove the secondary air injection manifold tube from the exhaust manifolds.

INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Tighten retaining bolts for front AIR diverter valve to 20-30 N.m (15-22 Lb-Ft). Tighten rear air injection diverter valve bolts to 9-12 N.m (80-106 Lb-In).
3. Tighten secondary air injection manifold tube nuts to 38-42 N.m (28-30 Lb-Ft).
4. Tighten engine air cleaner tube clamps to 2 N.m (18 Lb-In).
