Trunk / Liftgate Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: Individual lock cylinders are repaired by discarding the inoperative lock cylinder and building a new lock cylinder using the proper lock replacement package. The lock replacement package includes a detailed instruction sheet to build the new lock cylinder to the current key code of the vehicle.

1. Remove the liftgate door trim panel.







2. Release the exterior trim.







3. Disconnect the connector.







4. Release the rod.







5. Remove the clip.







6. Remove the lock cylinder.







7. Remove the anti-theft switch.
1. Remove the C-clip.
2. Remove the lever.
3. Remove the anti-theft switch.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: Rotate the lock lever with the key inserted in the lock cylinder to align the lock lever with the anti-theft wire.
