Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure.







2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) and unclip the cable.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.







4. Remove the splash shield.







5. Remove the right-hand front wheel housing liner (two-part).







6. Loosen the drive belt and remove it.







7. Remove the coolant tube bracket.







8. Remove the front exhaust pipe (seven nuts).
- Unclip the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) cable.







9. Remove the heat shield from the air conditioning compressor.







10. Remove the air conditioning compressor.
- Remove the four bolts (two shown).
- Remove the line connection.

NOTE: Seal the line and the connection with plugs.







11. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor electrical connector.
- Remove the A/C compressor.

INSTALLATION

NOTE:
- Replace the O-rings and coat them with refrigerant oil.
- For tightening torques see "General Specifications".
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Check A/C system for normal operation.
