Fuel Tank Temperature Sensor (CNG): Service and Repair

FUEL TANK TEMPERATURE SENSOR (CNG)

REMOVAL
1. Perform the pressure relief - fuel line venting procedure. Service and Repair
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.







4. Remove the tank temperature sensor.
1. Disconnect the tank temperature sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove the tank temperature sensor.

INSTALLATION







1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

NOTE:
^ When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to learn the strategy.
^ Replace the tank temperature sensor O-ring seal.
^ Lubricate the tank temperature sensor O-ring seal with Super Premium 5W30 engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-F or equivalent prior to installation, to help seal and ease the installation.
