Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure; refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.
3. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold; refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.







4. Remove the (A) bolt and the (B) Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.

INSTALLATION







1. Inspect the O-ring seal for damage and install a new seal if necessary.







2. Lubricate the O-ring seal with Super Premium XO-5W-30 Motor Oil or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
1 Install the CMP sensor.
2 Install the bolt.
3. Install the fuel injection supply manifold; refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.
4. Connect the battery ground cable.
