Trunk / Liftgate: Service and Repair

LIFTGATE

Removal and Installation







1. Remove the liftgate trim.







2. Disconnect the washer hose.







3. NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.

Disconnect the heated backlight electrical connectors.







4. NOTE: LH side shown, LH side similar.

Disconnect the LH and RH liftgate ajar switch electrical connectors.







5. Disconnect the high mount stop lamp electrical connector.







6. Disconnect the power door lock electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the rear wiper electrical connector.
8. Release the 19 wire harness push-type retainers.







9. Remove the washer hose grommet and remove the washer hose from the liftgate.







10. Remove the wire harness grommet and route the wire harness out of the liftgate.







11. NOTE:
- The liftgate must be supported before removing the hydraulic liftgate supports.
- LH side shown, RH side similar.

Disconnect the hydraulic liftgate supports at the liftgate side.







12. Remove the bolts and the liftgate.
13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
