Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the handles, locks, latches and mechanisms.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage using the chart.

NOTE: Be sure the battery is fully charged. Refer to Charging System. Before starting electrical diagnosis, check for mechanical binds by manually operating the door lock. Then operate the lock system several times from each switch, while observing the operation of all door locks.

3. If the concern is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
