Starter Relay: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING: WHEN CARRYING OUT MAINTENANCE ON THE STARTING SYSTEM, BE AWARE THAT HEAVY GAUGE LEADS ARE CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY. MAKE SURE PROTECTIVE CAPS ARE IN PLACE WHEN MAINTENANCE IS COMPLETE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Remove the insulator.







3. Disconnect the starter motor solenoid relay switch wires and cables.
^ Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring terminal.
^ Remove the starter motor solenoid relay switch terminal nuts.
^ Remove the wiring.







4. Remove the starter motor solenoid relay switch.
^ Remove the bolts.
^ Remove the starter motor solenoid relay switch.

INSTALLATION

WARNING: WHEN CARRYING OUT MAINTENANCE ON THE STARTING SYSTEM BE AWARE THAT HEAVY GAUGE LEADS ARE CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY. MAKE SURE PROTECTIVE CAPS ARE IN PLACE WHEN MAINTENANCE IS COMPLETE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.












1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
