Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Compuvalve

COMPUVALVE

Contour
The Compuvalve electronically meters fuel according to demand and calculates spark advance for optimum driveability and emissions. A combination of sensors and inputs are used to dynamically monitor the engine operating environment. Fuel is delivered through the low pressure hose into the fuel rails (F-Series) and through the injector sleeves (F-Series) or a modified intake manifold (Contour). Internal to the Compuvalve are the Fuel Absolute Pressure (FAP) sensor, the Fuel Rail Temperature (FRT) sensor, and the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. The Compuvalve intercepts the base vehicle fuel gauge signal and substitutes a signal from a float style sensor in the alternative fuel tank (LPG) or a fuel tank pressure sensor mounted on the high pressure regulator (CNG). This allows the Compuvalve to display the alternative fuel level on the gasoline fuel gauge while in ALT mode.

F-Series
The Alternative Fuel Control Module (AFCM) is incorporated within the Compuvalve. The fuel system control strategy is identical to Contour.
