Trunk / Liftgate Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the liftgate latch. For additional information, refer to Liftgate Latch.







2. File down the liftgate lock cylinder housing to expose the spring and plunger.







3. Remove the spring and plunger. Discard the spring.







4. Remove the liftgate lock cylinder.

INSTALLATION







1. Using an M6 tap, cut a thread into the lock cylinder housing.







2. Install the liftgate lock cylinder.
3. Install the plunger.







4. Install an M6 by 6.5 mm screw to secure the plunger.

NOTE: Use loctite sealer on the top two threads below the screw head.







5. Install the liftgate latch.







6. Install the liftgate latch electrical connector.







7. Install the liftgate trim panel.
