Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair






SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL
1. Perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure.

NOTE: Observe the "Health and Safely Rules".

2. Raise the vehicle.






3. Detach the wheel arch trim panel on the passenger's side (driver's side shown).
- Remove six bolts.
- Remove the trim panel.







4. Remove the accumulator/dehydrator.
1. Disconnect the refrigerant line using special tool 412-040.
2. Disconnect the refrigerant line screw-connection.
3. Remove the accumulator/dehydrator together with the bracket.

CAUTION: Immediately seal the refrigerant line and connection using plugs.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Renew the O-rings and smear them with refrigerant oil. Use only green O-rings.

1. Refit the components in reverse order.
2. Evacuate and refill the air conditioning system.
3. Check the operation of the air conditioning system.
