Battery: Description and Operation

The battery fitted is a 12 volt (DC) high cold cranking amperage type.

The battery tray is a one-piece plastic component secured by three bolts.

The battery cables consist of heavy duty ground and power cables with soldered ring terminals. The cables are clamped to the battery terminals which are of dissimilar size to avoid reverse connection. A separate starter solenoid cable has an electrical connection near the battery and a bolted attachment at the starter solenoid. Both the ground and power cables have bolted connections to the engine, starter motor and generator.
