Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation





1. Remove the nuts.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.





3. Disconnect the Catalyst Monitor Sensor (CMS) electrical connectors.





4. Support the exhaust system with a suitable jack stand.





5. Remove the nut.





6. Remove the bolts.





7. Remove the nuts and remove the dual converter Y-pipe.





8. Remove the gaskets and, if necessary, the Catalyst Monitor Sensors (CMS).
- Discard the gaskets.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
