Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1 Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.







3. Remove the pin-type retainers and remove the snow shield.







4. Disconnect the accelerator cable, speed control actuator cable and the throttle return spring from the throttle body.







5. Position the accelerator cable bracket aside.
^ Remove the bolts.







6. Remove the intake manifold support bracket.
^ Remove the three bolts (flexible fuel engine).
^ Remove one bolt (gasoline engines).
^ Remove the nut.

NOTE: The flexible fuel engine is shown, the gasoline engine is similar.







7. Remove the throttle body.
^ Remove one stud bolt.
^ Remove three bolts.
^ Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
8. If necessary, remove the throttle body gasket.
9. If necessary, remove the throttle position sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
