Main Climate Control


REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Remove the cowl top vent panel.






4. Disconnect the heater hoses, Heating and Air Conditioning/Heater Hose/Service and Repair/ Service and Repair
5. Remove the lower instrument panel utility compartment.






6. Remove the ash receptacle.






7. Remove the rear seat airflow duct.
1 Remove the pins.
2 Remove the duct.
8. Remove the center instrument panel support brackets.






9. Remove the cover screws and remove the cover.






10. Remove the core.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Lubricate the coolant hoses with MERPOL(R) meeting Ford specification ESE-M99B144-B or plain water only, if needed.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
