REMOVAL

NOTE: If a heater core leak is suspected, the heater core must be leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle.

1. Drain the radiator.
2. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to: Body and Frame, Interior Trim, Dashboard/Instrument Panel, Service and Repair, Removal and Installation, Removal and Installation







3. Perform the Heater Hose Coupling Disconnect Procedure.







4. Remove the A/C plenum demister adapter.
1 Remove the screw.
2 Remove the A/C plenum demister adapter.







5. Disconnect the vacuum line.







6. Remove the plenum chamber top.
1 Remove the 13 screws.
2 Remove the plenum chamber top.
7. Remove the blend door assembly from the case.







8. Remove the heater core.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Lubricate the coolant hoses with MERPOL(R) meeting Ford specification ESE-M99B144-B or plain water only, if needed.
