Flex Plate: Service and Repair
Removal 1.
Remove the transmission.
2.
Remove the
flywheel.
3.
Clean and inspect the
flywheel.
Installation 1.
Note: Special bolts are used for
flywheel installation; do not use standard bolts.
Install the
flywheel.

Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages.

Stage 1: Tighten to
13 Nm (10 ft. lbs.). -
Stage 2: Tighten
71 Nm (52 ft. lbs.). 2.
Install the transmission.
