Dual Converter Y-Pipe

Removal and Installation

1. CAUTION: When repairing the exhaust system or removing exhaust components, disconnect an heated oxygen and catalyst monitor sensors at the wiring connectors to prevent damage to the sensors and wiring harness.

Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Install the special tool onto the flex pipe.





3. Disconnect the heated oxygen and catalyst monitor sensor connectors.





4. Remove the two dual converter Y-pipe-to-flex pipe bolts. Discard the flange gasket.





5. Remove the dual converter Y-pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.





6. Remove the dual converter Y-pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.





7. Disconnect the LH dual converter Y-pipe bracket.





8. Disconnect the RH dual converter Y-pipe bracket and remove the dual converter Y-pipe.
9. If necessary, remove the heated oxygen and catalyst monitor sensors.

10. NOTE: Make sure to apply anti-sieze compound to the threads of the sensors prior to installation.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
