Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

Verify the customer's concern by running the engine or road testing the vehicle to duplicate the condition.

Visually inspect the components of the
exhaust system for obvious signs of mechanical damage.
3.
If the fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart.
