EGR Valve: Service and Repair

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) VALVE

Removal and Installation
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.







2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
2. Disconnect the EGR tube upper fitting.
3. Remove the bolts and the EGR valve and discard the gasket.

3. NOTE: The EGR valve sealing surfaces are soft metals.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Carefully clean the EGR sealing surfaces.
- Install a new EGR valve gasket.
