Compressor Fitting HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant.







3. Remove the bolt and detach the manifold and tube assembly from the A/C compressor.
^ Discard the O-ring seals.







4. Disconnect the A/C pressure cutoff switch electrical connector.







5. Disconnect the A/C manifold and tube assembly at the suction accumulator.
^ Discard the O-ring seal.







6. Disconnect the A/C manifold and tube assembly at the A/C condenser core.
^ Discard the O-ring seal.

NOTE: Use a backup wrench to hold the line during disconnection to prevent damage to the line.







7. Remove the nut.







8. Remove the A/C pressure cutoff switch.
^ Discard the O-ring seal.

9. Remove the A/C manifold and tube assembly.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Install new O-ring seals lubricated in clean PAG oil.
^ Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.

2. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system.
