Low Pressure Cutoff Switch

REMOVAL







1. Detach the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve and position it to one side.







2. Disconnect the low-pressure cutoff switch electrical connector.
3. Start the engine and turn the Air Conditioning (A/C) switch to the ON position.







4. Connect a 20 A fuse rated jumper wire between Pin 1 and Pin 4, harness side, of the low- pressure cutoff switch electrical connector.

NOTE: The A/C compressor must run during low-pressure cutoff switch removal.







5. Remove the low-pressure cutoff switch.
- Discard the O-ring seals.

NOTE: Make sure that the low-pressure cutoff switch valve closes completely after removal of the low-pressure cutoff switch to prevent loss of refrigerant.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
- Install new low-pressure cutoff switch O-ring seals.
- Coat the low-pressure cutoff switch O-ring seals in clean refrigerant oil prior to installation.
- Tighten the low-pressure cutoff switch carefully to prevent any damage.
