Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes





Special Tool(s)

Removal and Installation

NOTE: This procedure describes the removal and installation of all the transaxle cooling system tubes and hoses. Only disconnect those that require removal from the vehicle.

All vehicles
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Remove the retaining clip.





3. Disconnect the fluid cooler tube from the connector assembly.
^ Push the fluid cooler tube inward slightly, squeeze the retaining clip, and with a slight twisting motion, pull the fluid cooler tube out of the connector assembly.








Vehicles equipped with trailer towing package
4. Disconnect the transaxle fluid cooler hose from the Oil-To-Air (OTA) fluid cooler.





All vehicles
5. Disconnect the tube from the retainers.





Fluid cooler outlet tube
6. Remove the retaining clip.





7. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler outlet tube from the integral fluid cooler.

8. Lower the vehicle.





9. Remove the retaining clip.





10. Using the special tool, disconnect the fluid cooler inlet tube from the integral fluid cooler.

All fluid cooler tubes and hoses
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Listen for a clicking sound when connecting the fluid cooler tube to the radiator and the transaxle. Verify the connection by pulling back on the fitting.
^ Fill the transaxle with automatic transmission fluid as needed.
