Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

CAUTION: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.







2. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.

NOTE: The CMP sensor is located behind the power steering pump.







3. Remove the bolt and the CMP sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring before installation.
